Hook: gorgeous, sexy, protective and all alpha. Marcie: cute, contained and sassy. Atlas quickly unveiled their attraction as well as their challenges. It was anticipated merely enjoyable.

As with most novellas, I craved more than depth, dimension and complexity. Additionally, at that place were several editing errors, such as incorrect and missing words.

Hook was a quick and easy read. Although published later, for those just starting the series, I recommend reading Hook prior to volume one, Striker; however, it can exist read out of society while nonetheless gaining maximum reading pleasure.

STORY
With a psychotic ex beau acting like a stalker and a reunion with a sexy, long lost friend who is now in a MC, this book has lots of potential. Unfortunately, information technology is extremely borrrrring!!!!! The couple breaks up for ridiculous reasons related to the female person wanting to remain independent, and there isn't anything extraordinary or exciting about the storyline. The couple breaks upward for ridiculous reasons related to the female wanting to remain independent, and there isn't anything extraordinary or exciting near the storyline. Performance
I listened to the Audible audiobook narrated by Noah Michael Levine and Erin DeWard.
Ms. DeWard had the female person main character speak with a southern accent yet the two men this character supposedly grew up with did non. Actually, Living made the air here, having one of the two men speak with a British emphasis and one with a western/California accent. Basically, the male main character sounded like a British pirate (which was totally unnecessary and inappropriate)! Ms. DeWard is a good actress but her voice sounds very mature which wasn't a expert match for this young female main character.

No longer off limits and very much an adult at present she feels the heat between her and Hook.

"I love you, Marcie. And I promise I won't walk in front of y'all, but stand up beside you for the balance of your life."

An enjoyable read full of Putting the past behind, romance and healing with some surprises thrown in. Atlas has a series of secondary characters that she develops so well and makes the story that much better. Definitely a series I want to get my hands on. I will exist diving into the adjacent book as soon as I can.

Let's offset off by proverb that this is a new author for usa and nosotros actually enjoyed out first read by her.Three friends after then many years apart reunited but non under ideal circumstances only , are Happy moments never less and an opportunity for 2d chances.

An enjoyable romance filled with love, romance, healing, putting old ghosts to rest with a few surprises in the mix.Nosotros loved about all the characters except the ex boyfriend what an a**. One of the things I loved about them the most were their unique names. They were fun and heady besides equally love-able and added that excitement and humour that the volume needed to keep y'all engrossed.

I always selection a favorite character and mine is going to be Hook. That guy was just and so sweetness and love-able and handsome to boot .I just loved everything about him.He was patient and kind and lethal, possessive, humorous and just had one of those upbeat personalities yet showed he was vulnerable likewise. He always had a thing for Marice when they were kids simply, he new she was to immature for him and vulnerable due to her family life and he did not want to take advantage. Now all bets are off no more acting like the protective big brother instead he is going to peruse what his heart every bit always wanted Marcie! Hook new they were destined to be soul mates and now he has a second chance of that happening. With a swain in the mix also he's up for the challenge.

We loved Marcie as well.We found her to be strong ,confident, cute, kind, had a sense of sense of humour simply, their e'er seemed sadness that surrounds her as well equally being restless.Hook is but what she needs and has ever been attracted to him but, she see's him as a fleck of fun and not a permanent fixture in her life. Why not human activity on all those fantasies she has always had? For Marice a fling is what she has in listen but, for Hook its so such more.Marice was a bit of a complicated character that had a troubled childhood that brings back those bad memories and nightmares by returning home. She has go a strong independent women now and left all that behind her notwithstanding returning dwelling house its stirs up old ghosts she thought she laid to rest.Poor Claw already has strikes confronting him in winning Marcie over every bit he was part of all that back then as he and Striker were the ones that loved and protected her making them part of the bad memories she no longer wants part of.Marice was her ain worst enemy at times as she was simply too contained and only might push the only thing away that would bring her the true happiness that she has e'er wanted.

This was definitely a hot sexy read that was filled with tons of emotion and healing besides equally love , forgiveness and friendship with a flake of drama and danger thrown in the mix and we loved it.An engrossing read from the get get with a bunch of interesting and love-able and fun characters and we could not put it down.A story that made us laugh also and weep.

I love when you are able to connect or fall in honey with the characters that y'all are reading about and we were able to exercise that with this neat group of characters.I love when that happens to y'all because then you are invested and so in seeing them get their happily always subsequently.Your e'er rooting for them.

A recommend MC romance that was a light fun read that was action packed from the get go .I am looking forward to getting to know the other members of this series besides .

five stars from us

But she is here, and with her "boyfriend" who she was on the verge of dumping and who is acting like he is a frat boy inviting his friends with as a road trip to her mother's funeral and non even being in that location for her.
And then at a bar letting off some steam she runs into her ii friends who watched over her when she was a teenager. But who now turned into two Hot, Sexy Alpha muscular bikers. Members of the Prisoners Motorcycle Guild. And peradventure a proficient affair too as her "boyfriend" was turning into an abusive asshole.

Striker and Hook has been Marcie's bodyguards since her mother was never a cistron in her life. Striker taking the roll of a big brother and Hook, well he wanted to be more than a big blood brother. Simply he couldn't do annihilation because Marcie was notwithstanding a teenager, but at present she'due south all grown up and all bets were off.

But will he be able to convince her that he wants to exist the one taking care of her and being at that place for her, he wanted to be her partner. Or will all this be too much for the independent women that Marcie has turned out to be.

This book was Hot, Sexy full of drama and also a bit of crazy stalker ex trying to concord onto something that doesn't vest to him

Hook is the first book in the No Prisoners MC serial. This book is a novella that sets off the series at a delightful beginning. Hook is Australian, and his family moved to boondocks and got involved in drugs. But Hook and his all-time friend Striker and the girl they watched out for grew up together and looked out for each other. But once Hook and Striker turned xviii, they became prospects for the local MC "No Prisoners" and they establish the family they never had growing up. Hook is Australian, and his family moved to boondocks and got involved in drugs. But Hook and his best friend Striker and the girl they watched out for grew up together and looked out for each other. But once Hook and Striker turned 18, they became prospects for the local MC "No Prisoners" and they plant the family unit they never had growing upward. Marcie grew up with Striker and Hook. Her mother was a prostitute and a drug addict, and Striker took her in and looked out afterward her like a brother. But his friend, Hook, was no brother to her. And when she returns home after her mothers death to settle her affairs, she finds herself reuinited with the 2 men she calls family unit more than anyone else in her life. But her ex boyfriend has gone crazy and rough, and is stalking her while she reconnects with Striker and kindles the passion she feels for Hook.

I had a true fun time with this book, and this is a great way to start off the series. Its a sexy and sweet read and has a playful side to the romance which you don't normally come across in a MC romance. Of course y'all don't see much of the society in this book, the focus is the romance between Marcie and Claw and also the friendship between Marcie and Striker. There is a downside to the story, which is the heroine. She tends to be a bit also independent that she forgets that living a life is important too. She had to be and so independent growing up, and doesn't want to have to give that up. She does hurt the hero in a way, because all he wants is a partner, only Marcie gets a fleck likewise obsessed with her independence and doesn't see that its of import to let people into your life and you don't have to cede who yous are to practise and then. Even though I didn't like how she treated the hero sometimes, I did similar seeing her personal growth and realize what she had been missing in her life and how solitary she had been since leaving town. We too have a intensity to the story with Marcie'south ex, who has kinda gotten also scrap obsessed with her and I enjoyed seeing how this story played out in the end. Such a easy going, heart warming yet sexy as sin romance to scroll your toes.

And then this is ane I'm not sure how to rate. It had a lot of potential but missed the mark for me. This book is really why I get back and forth on reading prequels. I've been able to figure out though, if an author is writing a prequel about specific characters and trying to requite them their ending, they unremarkably don't work for me. They are always short and they just don't give a lot of background on the characters. This i was no unlike.

Marcie is supposed to be this strong, contained adult female. I don't view her equally potent though. She has this swain that she felt pressured to date by her boss. Um, yeah, that's non strong. Her boyfriend puts his hand on her arm so difficult he leaves bruises Hmmm, she didn't whip her arm away and tell him to finish or back off, yeah, that'due south non strong. He then puts his fingers on her face the next morning, hard enough to leave bruises that require makeup to hide and she doesn't knock his hand away. See why I don't buy into it?

We get so little from her background to tie everything together. Well I mean, we become a lilliputian on Striker and Hook, but merely plenty to attempt and justify why Hook has this immediate "mine" mentality when he sees her. What I didn't buy was she was gone for x years with literally no contact at all. Her female parent passes and she doesn't fifty-fifty contact these 2 to help her. She's been in town for several days and still doesn't contact these guys. It'southward just when she runs into them in a bar that all suddenly they are Then important in her life. Information technology didn't work for me.

Hook was a great alpha male. And I dear blastoff males. They are my favorite! Only this book needed more than.

My question would exist, why don't Hook and Marcie go a total 300+ pages like Striker and the residuum of the sub characters? Because what we got in this book, absolutely does Non make me want to read the next book. I hate leaving series I start open ended, simply I'grand not sure I can read the next one. In reality, with the amount of books I read, after a week or so, this book will be a distant retentivity and and then will the fact that I left the residue of the books unread.

What I Loved: the writing was well done and while this wasn't a gritty MC story, it was very enjoyable. Being a prequel, I felt similar I wasn't missing annihilation since I've merely read book iii of the series previous to this one. It definitely has me wanting to read the first 2 books in the series now that I've been introduced to the great characters that are part of the series.

I loved Claw, he was sweet and funny and, of course, had that strong Alpha personality that the men in these books generally possess. I only wish I could've gotten more of him and his backstory. He'southward kind of relegated to being a side grapheme and I recall he should be much more than that.

I adored Striker and after reading this, I tin can't wait to read his story. I have a feeling I'm going to beloved the VP of the No Prisoners MC.

What I Liked: Marcie was okay but over again we didn't get enough of her background. Yes, her childhood and teen years with her mother are touched on but I wanted more. I as well would like to get more of her adult life. I don't feel like I really know her.

What I Didn't Like: the cliché of ex-fellow turned evil and crazy. Honestly, I found the confrontation betwixt Tanner, Marcie and the lodge a bit ludicrous. I won't give spoilers but I have a difficult time buying the whole affair, but whatsoever, I still was entertained.

Overall, I would recommend Hook. If you're a fan of the series or are just looking for a quick, fun and piece of cake read, Hook is a good choice.

I dear this batch of MC men and their arrogant selves .... go along them coming Ms. Lilly -- what a keen serial. I look frontwards to much much more and to too keep up with Striker, Hook and the rest of our previously introduced characters!

Cheers for the ARC! Review to mail to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets.

I love a good juicy read about guys in an MC or Motorbike Club. This was a novella and is a great introduction to a new MC world. Although this book I would consider lighter on the MC details and heavier on the relationships. Novellas are mostly not my favorite specially when it is the first book I read introducing a new series. I bask them equally a bonus to previous books but I generally don't jump to read a regular novella. Well, this was a great intro for me to Lilly Atlas and her MC world. I love a good juicy read most guys in an MC or Motorbike Club. This was a novella and is a great introduction to a new MC earth. Novellas are generally non my favorite peculiarly when it is the first book I read introducing a new series. I savour them every bit a bonus to previous books but I generally don't jump to read a regular novella. Well, this was a dandy intro for me to Lilly Atlas and her MC world. I didn't feel the story was rushed or over the acme which I accept felt in the by about short books. Lilly pulls off a full-length novel in a compact story.

Marcie comes dorsum to her hometown to coffin her mom after existence away for a long time. She brings her jerk of a boyfriend and is forced to face the music back home. She runs into her two favorite friends from way dorsum and the fun begins. Hook and Striker are MC members and I loved their banter from the first. Everything from how they got their MC nicknames to their deep friendship and vehement protectiveness of Marcie.

Hook and Marcie have sparks from the start and it was great to scout. Her swain Tanner causes a great deal of trouble and Lilly Atlas sure knows how to particular the awkwardness between Hook, Marcie and Tanner. I was literally cringing in certain chapters that'southward how well written information technology was. The catastrophe was action packed and this novella definitely packs a punch until the very end. Marcie and Hook'south story is a hot, unexpected boom-biter that amazed me to encounter how well written a short story could be. Selection this one upwards!

Y'all I am loving reading all these new MC authors whom I will be meeting in a few brusque weeks! I have been introduced to then many new worlds and I am stoked to be able to complete all these new series!

The problem I always take with novellas is that I experience like I don't get a fully fleshed out story. However, Lilly knocked this one out of the park, and I truly felt like I got to know each of the characters and their histories. Y'all I am loving reading all these new MC authors whom I will be coming together in a few short weeks! I have been introduced to so many new worlds and I am stoked to exist able to complete all these new series!

The problem I always accept with novellas is that I feel similar I don't get a fully fleshed out story. However, Lilly knocked this i out of the park, and I truly felt like I got to know each of the characters and their histories. Childhood friends to lovers is ane of my all time favorite tropes considering I beloved seeing the existent friendship first before it turns into something else. This was very well written and a fantastic introduction to this world of characters.

Marcie was a strong grapheme who masked her abandonment problems with her need for independence. She refuses to let anyone assist her, but Hook comes along and wants to evidence her what information technology feels like to be someone'southward partner. I did get a tad frustrated with Marcie, merely I understood where she was coming from. Information technology was beautiful to see her story play out and to come across her shell break autonomously nether the watchful optics of two men she considered family way back when.

Hook has his work cutting out with breaking down Marcie's thick walls, but he is i man who is upward for the claiming. He knew she was way too young to be with when they were kids due to their historic period difference, but there is no way in hell he is letting anything stand up in their way this time around. Hook is sweet and tender with Marcie, but your typical badass mofo to everyone else.

I can't expect to read Striker's story and see what Lilly Atlas does with the rest of the series!

MC books are one of my all-fourth dimension favourites, and I am always on the lookout for new authors, so I was giddy when I had the chance to read Claw. MC books are one of my all-time favourites, and I am always on the lookout man for new authors, then I was giddy when I had the risk to read Hook. With high expectations for a gritty MC book, merely no knowledge of this authors writing style, I wasn't certain what to expect; what I got was downright fantastic. I love love loved Hook, he was a pure hot alpha brand in leather, and Marcie was a kickass heroine.

This book was the fourth in the series, only was easily read as a standalone; afterwards enjoying this book so much and coming together a few of the other bikers, I certainly plan on going back to read the get-go three books in the series. Striker and Jester are ii characters I enjoyed from this volume, and they both already have their story, so I tin can't await to read about them.

With a fantastic storyline and only enough kindle melting, possessive and dominating sex scenes this book had nearly everything I look for in an MC volume. There wasn't as much violence or foul mouthed biker talk, but this story was more well-nigh one fellow member and his personal life rather than the club, so it worked. There are some great one liners that I loved and i bedroom scene in particular which had me chuckling, well turnabout is fair play J

The just other negative for me was that I would similar to accept been given an epilogue, only who knows, mayhap when I go back to the other books I'll see something more in them, as I believe the timeline for this book is set up before the others.

New author for me merely she has lost me already as a reader.
I did finish this as I hate leaving a book unread but it was a close call.
Hero was sweetness and supportive, heroine was too dramatically contained and I didn't similar her attitude.
A stalker plot that is weak.
Within the get-go 4 chapters nosotros go.
A very independent Marcie (won't even accept a beer from old friends without arguing. In fact she spouts on continuously virtually being independent) who takes physical abuse from a guy she'southward only known

Within the first four chapters nosotros go.
A very contained Marcie (won't even accept a beer from old friends without arguing. In fact she spouts on continuously about being independent) who takes concrete abuse from a guy she's but known for approximately three weeks. Two before her mum dies then one to drive back to Crystal Rock.
But of a sudden, they have been together longer and this independent adult female who has no friends due to, in her own words, being so fiercely, and admittedly over the height, independent, is allowing a virtual stranger to abuse her.
And let's non forget she has already had sex with him but he is only the 2nd man she has been intimate with.
Really, with how her mother was, she's had sex activity with a virtual stranger, then makes out with Hook in the garage toilets.
Marcie even plans to walk away from Hook due to her independence, stating she is able to fix her stalker problem alone. Yeah correct.
Just totally unbelievable and put me off continuing with this series.
Grabbed through KU as I was in the mood for a new MC series read and this was recommended.

"Information technology would be and so like shooting fish in a barrel to fall into him, let him hold her, pleasure her, comfort her. Only when it was over, she'd still be alone, and a little weaker for having allow him shoulder some of her burdens. Then the next time she needed to exist tough and stand on her own, she'd remember what it felt similar to have Claw, and it would be just a bit harder to go on alone." — i likes
